Luck of the Irish Runner

Come learn how to machine embroider appliques, piece a table runner and then custom quilt the runner to make a cute table decoration for St. Patrick's Day.

Skill Details: You will learn machine embroidery applique techniques, piecing techniques and custom quilting techniques
Requirements: Pattern - Luck of the Irish Runner by Amelie Scott Designs- pre-load designs onto your embroidery machine or to a USB that can be used in the machine Embroidery machine with a minimum of a 260x200 mm hoop Size 90 machine embroidery needle Tearaway stabilizer Pellon Shape Flex (SF 101) 4 - 6" squares of low loft cotton or cotton/poly blend batting 2 - 6" squares of dark green fabric for hats 2 - 6" squares of medium green fabric for large shamrocks 4 - 4" squares of different scraps of green fabric for small shamrocks 1/3 yd background fabric - pre-cut background fabric into six 7x8.5" rectangles and press Shape Flex to back of each rectangle. 1 yd backing fabric 1/4 yd of accent fabric - cut in six 6.5x3.5" rectangles and fuse Pellon Shape Flex to back 1/4 yd binding fabric - not needed for class Low loft cotton or poly/cotton blend of batting for quilt sandwich that is about 21x42" Green thread to match large shamrock and hat fabrics; darker green thread; black thread; gold thread or gold metallic; lavender thread; light green(lime) thread; white thread; machine embroidery bobbin thread in bobbin; black bobbin thread that will be used when stitching hat. If using a metallic thread, bring a thread net. Tape to hold fabric to stabilizer Scissors to trim appliques Wash away marker Rotary cutting mat and rotary cutter; ruler to trim blocks Regular sewing thread and regular bobbin thread for sewing blocks together - plus a machine needle for piecing. Quilting pins or basting spray For quilting - Embroidery thread for top thread and thread in bobbin that complements your backing fabric; if you have a 240x150 size magnetic hoop for your machine this can be used for the quilting.
