Clamshell Ruler Work

Let’s do some ruler work. This class offers instruction to achieve a clam shell and an orange-peel quilting design by using a clam shell quilting ruler on your domestic machine. A completed table runner top must be brought to class.

Skill Details:
Requirements: Material List: Sewing machine with a Ruler foot. A completed table runner top consisting of two nine patch blocks with a plain center block. The blocks should be 9 x 9 inches finished ( 9.5"x9.5" unfinished). (Hint: The strips to construct the nine patches would be 3 ? inches). The backing and batting needs to be at least 2 inches bigger than the top. The table runner top, batting, and a backing fabric should be adhered together with adhesive spray prior to class. Thread ? either a complimentary or contrasting thread Quilting Ruler ? Amanda Murphy Every Clam shell 2pc (GMAMLSECL ? low shank or GMAMECL ? longarm). The ruler must match the sewing machine shank length. Pattern ? none Needle: A NEW size 80/12 or 90/14 topstitch or jeans needle is suggested. Usual sewing accessories (thread, needle, small scissors) Quilting Gloves (optional) Supreme Slider (optional)
