This embroidery technique of the month class will show you how certain designs can be stitched with the HV or Pfaff Texture Hoop and decorative ribbons or yarns. This class will focus on making a mug rug in the Texture Hoop (design provided). Most machines have some built in designs utilizing the Texture Hoop that you can use in other projects. General Instructions on using the Texture Hoop will be discussed.
12.5 x 9 " cotton fabric for back and binding,
12" x 12" cotton fabric for front
Tear a way stabilizer, or a fusible tear a way pre-fused to the back of the 12" x 12" front.
Wash a Way Stabilizer,
Size 90 Inspira Embroidery needles,
10" x 6.5" piece of batting,
3 decorative ribbons 3/8" or 1/2" x 10" grosgrain recommended. 2 ribbons should be the same color.
Rayon embroidery thread to complement your ribbon. You will need a dark, medium and light thread to complement each ribbon and a metallic thread is suggested for the final outline. Embroidery bobbin thread.
USB drive if you want to save the design to a USB.
Topstitch foot - not needed for class , but helpful in completing your mug rug
