In this workshop, you will be making a Bargello table runner and coordinating place mat. You will then be able to take these skills and techniques home to create as many place mats as you desire! We will have fun experimenting with fabric placement and discussing the best techniques for perfect strip sets. This is just the beginning of your Bargello obsession!
Please make sure to cut your strips prior to class! Roberts has the cutting diagrams for your needs.

"Twist and Turn Bargello Quilts" book by Eileen Wright. Fabric yardage is based on 42" wide fabric and will yield four placemats - 1/4 yard each of 10 fabrics, 5/8 yard for binding, 1-1/2 yards for backing. For the workshop you will need one 17" x 24" of batting for ONE placemat. If you choose the same fabrics for your tablerunner, you will need the following yardage - 1/2 yard each of 10 fabrics, 7/8 yard for binding, 3-1/4 yard for backing and a 24" x 54" piece of batting. If you want your table runner to be different fabrics, then you will need the following yardage - 1/4 yard each of 10 fabrics, 1/3 yard for binding, 1-2/3 yard for backing, 24" x 54" piece of batting. You will also need your sewing machine (in good working condition) with foot control and power cord. Coordinating thread for piecing. 1/4" quilting foot. Essential sewing supplies (straight pins, seam ripper, etc.) Cutting mat, rotary cutter and ruler. Please see the cutting direction sheets at the shop.
