Do you want to expand the use of your embroidery machine to do custom quilting on your projects? This class will start by making a table runner to use for our custom quilting designs. The full-day class will show you how to position designs on your table runner to custom quilt the squares, setting triangles and border of this adorable runner. Once you practice on this runner, you can move on to expanding your skills by using the designs in the required book on quilts you have made.
"Custom Quilting on Your Embroidery Machine" book by Amelie Scott Designs. 5 different fabrics (1/8 yard cuts or 2-1/2" by WOF strips)-fabrics should be the same hue of color (e.g.-all yellows or blues). 1/2 yard of border fabric (either small print or solid in same hue). 1-1/2 yards of backing fabric (in similar hue). 1/3 yard fabric for binding.
Please pre-cut your fabrics before class:
1/8 yard cuts - cut one 2-1/2" strip from each of 5 fabrics and sub-cut into five 5-1/2" x 2-1/2" rectangles.
Setting triangle fabric - cut one 4-1/2" strip and sub-cut into five 4-1/2" squares. Cut one 7" strip and sub-cut into four 7" squares. Sub-cut the 7" squares into 4 triangles by cutting diagonally from corner to corner.
Border fabric - cut three 4-1/2" strips and cut strip in half.
Cut one 2-1/2" strip to be used with the 1/8 yard fabrics.
Binding - cut four 2-1/4" strips or four 2-1/2" strips (your preference).

For quilting the center of the runner a 360mm x 200mm hoop works best. For quilting the corner triangles and the border, the 180mm x 130mm magnetic hoop works well, but a 150mm x 150mm hoop will also work. If you do not have these sizes, bring the closest sizes to what is listed.
