Learn a new technique to make a table runner that involves NO QUILTING, BINDING OR HAND SEWING! This class will teach you the techniques to make the basic Braided Twist Table Runner. Once you learn the basic techniques, you can then go on to make variations of the basic twist, a 45 degree twist runner, a reversible runner or a bonus blossom topper.
Braided Twist Table Runner Book and Braided Twist Tool by Cheryl Phillips (tool comes with book). Sewing machine in good working condition with power cord and foot control. 1/4 inch foot for your machine. NEW Universal Size 80 needle. Cotton thread in neutral color to match your fabrics. 45mm rotary cutter with mat and 8 1/2" x 18" ruler. Basic Sewing supplies (pins, scissors, seam ripper, etc.). Choose 2 fabrics for the top that have contrasting values - Fabric A is 1/2 yard of a dark value and Fabric B is 1/2 yard of a light value. Backing fabric is 1 yard of fabric that blends with other fabrics. 1 yard of Fusible Fleece (please cut before class into 8 pieces that measure 7" x 14"). Lite Steam-a-Seam 2 Tape in 1/4". Fray check (if you have fabric that frays easily). True Grips for the backside of the Twist Tool (optional).
Make a copy of the master label sheet in the book and cut out the labels for the basic runner.
