Embroidery Workshop:
Designer Pillow
Teacher: Donna Daoust

We begin this year's embroidery workshop series with
a home décor project. You will create a designer pillow using a
Trapunto style quilt embroidery design. This pillow was a great
hit at our "What's New from Convention" event and received
several requests for this to be a class. You will broaden your
embroidery know how with step by step instructions for
interfacing & stabilizing for this design and fabric. You will
also receive instruction for constructing the pillow.

You will
test drive one of our computerized sewing machines, and we will
introduce you to tools and techniques to make your first quilt a
winner! You will learn rotary cutting and machine piecing skills.
Be prepared for homework.You will learn about
batting, backing and marking your quilt for free motion quilting.You will learn making binding and sewing it to your
finished quilt.

Finally!
Here's a way for you to get the most out of your sewing machine
with the Stitcher's Garden Block of the Month club. You'll explore
the different decorative stitches on your machine and even get to
use something other than the 1/4" foot! This project can be
completed using any brand and any model of machine.
Each month during
the lecture/demo you will learn new appliqué techniques and
accessory feet (some techniques will require the purchase of
specialty feet) and get the fabric and instructions for a new
quilt block. The registration fee includes the background fabric,
all the appliqué fabrics for each month's block and instruction
sheets. At the end of the year you will have stitched out a
beautiful appliquéd quilt measuring 85" x 93". Meets 1st Saturday
each month.
Youth Sewing 1
Teacher: Melody Lenart
Date: Thursdays, February 9 &16
Times: 4pm-6pm
This is a sewing class for young people. It is
instruction on how to operate a sewing machine, and how to use
the other sewing tools to make a pillowcase.
NEW! This time we have two park districts providing BUS SERVICE
for the shop hop.

group reminds me of the Tiffany exhibit at Navy Pier. Beautiful
and spring like in pink. Be sure to see the coordinating pattern
in the pattern section. 7 pieces including the panel.

Prairie Paisley II.
This was a very popular group the first time around and I think
we may be able to re kit our sample. 23 Pieces. Love the pattern
that we have using this line. Check it out under patterns. This
may become a kit.

patriotic group called
